I guess loyalty doesn’t pay . +5 plus years with Bitco and they told me my current equipment won’t support new speed which I totally get , outdated stuff. But re-applying as if I am not an existing customer irks me . And I must pay for replacement equipment ‍♂️
 
I asked sales guy Greg if the equipment I currently have if it belongs to me or Bitco he said property of Bitco . He then went and said Bitco upgraded all their equipment so mine also needs to be updated .
 
I don't understand, so you have an older service and would like to upgrade to their new 30mbit service. They want you to pay for them to install the new equipment at your place or to pay for the actual equipment?

Most WISPS you rent their antenna as that fee is baked into your monthly payment, it doesn't make sense to charge the customer full retail for equipment they essentially can't use without you.

If it's just the install fee of R500 I don't understand the problem here, are they forcing you to upgrade to the new service? Loyalty doesn't cover a quite standard labour cost and mind you one of the cheaper install costs for any wisp.

I'm on the 30mbit service and am really enjoying it.
 
A minor misunderstanding between me and the sales guy. I requested a line upgrade . Usually they would just sent an upgrade from you fill in , sign and sent it back . I was told to re-apply . So it seems as if this to me is not a line upgrade but rather a new application . I’m glad you are enjoying your 30 meg line .
 
So do you still pay the install fee? They seem to have some really miss informed sales people. There was a whole thing about clients getting charged an extra 15% VAT for the 30mbit service, after just over a month I finally recieved an email saying it had been sorted.

Guess I'll find out before the end of the month if they actually have fixed their billing problems.
 
If I take the 24 months he will waiver it . My issue was him saying they we can’t offer me the service since I have old equipment initially . I kept on pressing and he came back and said I must reapply , with no guarantee if the new equipment will work at my premises . But they will come do a site survey .
