America has two problems that will, unfortunately, not go away anytime soon...

First is the Feds' withdrawal of capital from the markets. This is the single biggest reason for stocks collapsing. It will continue for some time as the impact gets felt in the next 2 or so years.

Secondly is the interest rate hikes. Although the feds announced 4 hikes this year, I suspect that it will be only two. Maybe three. If they do go 3 or 4 hikes, the economy will be properly f****cked. Americans are already struggling with inflation and higher debt spells big trouble all around.

And, on a side note, inflation is rising due to government policies. It seems the government will not change their policies, so I suspect that this fear in the markets may stay until at least 2024.

Any improvement or recovery in the next 2-3 years will be short lived I think. The markets will keep experiencing a downward trend.

If you predictions are correct it might be good for developing countries (JSE just hit an all time high) or do you see a global downward trend ?

I think it might be a temporary global trend. The fear in the global markets will likely cause that, but I suspect most countries will pull out of it and continue growth. The US markets, on the other hand, currently has nothing to support any growth. By the way, just look at, as example, the Satrix Top 40 for January so far. It has not been affected by the US markets decline at all. While I am absolutely no supporter of anything on the JSE and for anything in SA at the moment, you would have had great growth if you moved your investments into the Top 40. I see this trend in most countries for the rest of this year. Most will outpace the US.
