Bitcoin soars above $7,000

Bitcoin jumped above $7,000 and didn’t look back, as its longest winning streak since 2013 continued to rekindle the global cryptocurrency market.

Monday’s 16% advance comes only a few days after the digital asset broke through $6,000 and looks set to boost investor interest in conferences on the technology underlying the biggest crypto asset that are taking place in New York this week.

Here we go again. Loads of people going to lose their life savings and GFX card prices going to shoot through the roof again...

The only people losing their life saving are the ones who sold their crypto. Just Hodl it will always go up again. If you don't sell you lost nothing.

I met a travelling trolley repair guy. He wanders the length of the land in his little bakkie with two of his sons and repairs trolleys at stores.

Last week he was here in my back yard, started to chat to me, wanted to know if I wanted to "invest" in bitcoin and had I heard about it as this was the next big thing.....

Yup! The next big thing. He went on to tell me how a lot his family and friends had recently invested in this "next Big Thing"

I smiled and declined, but it got me to thinking with all these new investors climbing onboard it might be time that the coin went up, a whole new generation are born...

Updated headline: "Bitcoin soars above $8,000".

Let's see how long this lasts, lol. It feels like the profit taking whales ran out of coins to sell in March and ever since there has been persistent upward price pressure. My completely unsubstantiated armchair theory of the day: US importers are backhanding Chinese suppliers in BTC to understate invoices and circumvent tariffs.
