Bitcoin Suicide Watch

Then freedom of speech and clean water are also "wants" that we can survive without.

is survival a need or a want? is life a need or a want? what will happen if there is no life? will the universe seize to exist?

is there really a need for humanity to exist?

The latter fact should be sufficient to show that BTC shouldn't be held over this period. Buy in the lead-up to January, sell at the high and wait for a new low to be reached before buying in again. But yeah...that sell needs to happen near the start of the price drop.
With all due respect to bitcoiners.
Bitcoin is the second biggest sh*tcoin after USD. I'm not touching it even for any massive potential gain. Never had it and never will.
/end rant

I don't hold or trade it either.
Find the other coins and tokens far more interesting.

Careful - one could interpret this as questioning Allah's actions! ;)

thats how you would interpret it yes

within the context of this thread it has more to do with the decisions one faces on a daily basis, things we consider needs are not really, and once that can be recognised, well then things become a bit easier, for oneself

what Allah has to do with it is something you can figure out after

Gotta agree. It has failed in it's ability to be an electronic cash system but then again, I have yet to see any coin that can be one right now.

Not sure what the point is there... that you can use gold to buy stuff?

yeah the details I haven't investigated, but its backed by mastercard, so you just swipe and your gold deposit shrinks so to speak and if you want your gold, they will mail it to you

It makes sense but appears to have a central body, so unlikely to be bogged down by transactions normally associated with peer-to-peer at all as, i assume, what happens is the holding company debits your gold/metal balance and credits the sellers, internally (zero wait time)

theres nothing stopping the system from being replicated, except political will

You mean replicating it to the crypto space as in replicating the way goldmoney works to crypto?

cypto schmidto pinktoe

the point is that its gold used as money, how the mechanics allow for it (at present mastercard) is rather immaterial to me

No. You were the one who made the statement. I just commented on that...

And you made a very good point which I don't think was addressed in his reply, rather just a cowardly side step, bubble cauldron bubble.
