If I may interject quickly, what platforms these days do you traders use? When mining craze hit I signed up to all the popular exchanges and platforms. I have not been back since, so am curious to which have died and which are still solid options to use?

The best options then that still exist now would still be the best I typically use Binance and Kraken internationally or Luno, Valr.

Depends on what you like to use all have their place
Euro -> Kraken
USD -> Binance

More volume SA side but more expensive rates if you are a taker -> Luno
Lower volumes best SA rates -> Valr
