I am holding onto all my coins for another 10 years before I decide to cash in. So much temptation now to cash in but I am going to wait it out and see where this rollercoaster takes me
You can do that, it's really a long game. Nothing wrong with it if you want passive income and little to no effort.

But I choose 3 or 4 of my altcoins that I "trade" .
So when I see there's a huge pump, I sell off 25% or 50% and wait for it to drop.
Sol for example, I bought 2 in March last year for around R200 each.
By selling at spikes and buying in lower, I now have 4 Sol and worth just over R10k. Not bad from a R400 investment hey?
But this I do only when I have time to really watch the market and read it properly.
Been in Crypto since 2017, and learned the hard way for the first 3 years.
Oh I should ad, havent taken a cent out of Crypto to date. Whatever gains there were, gets re-invested.

Not financial advice!

What you can do is if btc or any crypto doubles cash out half then you are 100% risk free
Nice, I love this idea, I just need to chat with my millionaire friend in 2 weeks time when I see him in Knysna for a holiday. See what he suggests of me offloading crypto to avoid those SARS naaiers. Thanx

I don’t even know how the halving works, but this is exactly what I said because I know it’s one of the things causing the current hype.
This is not the time to cash out.

1) The SEC is deciding on an ETH ETF on 23 May. That narrative is pumping price.
2) ETH has a major upgrade happening in about 10 days. I would take some profit just before that.
3) ETH always tops out after BTC. Every cycle, every time. Looks for weakness in BTC first.
4) All major ETH ecosystem projects are pumping now because of the expectation driving the narrative.
5) If BTC goes up, ETH goes up - After the halving it will cost miners about $60K per BTC mined to remain profitable. It either goes to 0 or goes up parabolically as it has done after every halving.

have 2 x friends who did this in 2017/18.
Invested about R10k. Doubled their money, pulled out R10k and has left the rest to grow till retirement.
Every now and then they will add some spare cash and buy a little more.

I bought 301 ADA coins 6 months ago for R4.90 each, they're worth R14.90 each today.
They have tripled in value in 6 months
Remember, BTC and ETH was also once upon a time R14.90 each.
In 20 years time my 301 ADA coins are going to be worth $10 000 each.

All these altcoins are not called sh*tcoins for nothing lol.

For context:

Bitcoin market cap: $1.3 trillion
Ethereum market cap: $450 billion
Cardano market cap at $10 000 each (at max supply): $450 trillion

Being taken over by other altcoins & newer tech aside, that market cap is also just ridiculous.

Agreed never really been a fan of Caradno think there are way better options out there but if you made money on Cardano well done. There are so many options out there maybe looking at diversifying that cardano bag

It doesn't work like that. I made the same assumption when I was new to crypto. Bought XRP thinking one day I'll reach Bitcoin price levels.

What is it with XRP and newcomers to crypto? XRP delusion is like a right of passage.

My brother got into crypto early Jan 2023. I told him to buy Bitcoin and Solana when Solana was $16. So he went and bought R100K of XRP at around $40. Missed out on an 8X+ move.

XRP fan boys are all very salty now.

I'm another one of those. I remember there was a lot of hype about Ripple back in the day. I've got different coins now.

Mine have tripled in value in 6 months. How is this a shitcoin you moron? Go and hug your Bosch and let the grown ups here discuss important matters

But it could. Just imagine. 1 Cardano coin is worth R10 000. And I own 301 of them. I will go retire on an ocean liner

That's probably the biggest reason people never make money on crypto. They're at 10x profit. But what if it goes 50X! And so they never cash out always thinking the grass is greener.

Very true, that is why I will cash out my Cardano when it gets to R10 000.
I only paid R4.90 for each one 6 months ago
Valued at R14.80 already today
