If you look closely there are alts that aren't so hinged to BTC.
For example, one of the more popular ones did over 15% gain yesterday (no not all at once) over a series of less than ten trades.

Seek and ye shall find...
Yeah I realise there's exceptions.

But I'd prefer it to be the general case rather than specific cases. It's generally true that if bitcoin drops 20% it's better to exit most alt positions and enter again when bitcoin has bottomed, because they tend to follow bitcoin down. Makes for a rather one-dimensional market at times.

It touched the extended support of the triangle. Based on a few times in the past it should bounce from here to around $6550 (maybe a bit of sideways first). I'm going to sit this one out though. Mainly because shorts are still low so no squeeze and market sentiment is getting worse with all the recent bad news and drops.

Carnage today. I think it might bounce from around $5800 then turn down again/go sideways from about $6300. $6k has to fall soon.

Seems like there's still a lot of buyers at $6100. So there is room for a bit of relief with a move up to around $6400/$6500. Maybe $7k if buyers come.

I bought again now. Taking a chance. Inverse bart up to the pink line:

Probably drop to mid 5000 then shoot up to 9ish and then final hard drop to end it all.

$6000 now...wonder if we'll get anywhere close to $5000 before the end of June?
That gap between $5000 and $6000 is a nice big fall without much stopping it.
