Bitdefender is k@k

Eset or nothing.

There are a number of reviews and benchmarks which would disagree with that assessment Thor, lol

I must say, having checked AV Comparatives recently, Bitdefender does seem like the champ of antivirus software.

Latest AV-Comparatives report:
https://www.av-comparatives.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/avc_prot_2016b_en.pdf

Bitdefender looks like the only antivirus with as good a perfect score against viruses, without being brought down by false positives or cluster analysis.

Makes me want to give it another try when my AVG Ultimate expires in Feb. They have a family pack for R600 that allows unlimited installs:

And the real reason I bought AVG Ultimate - AVG TuneUp - can be bought for unlimited devices for R250:

Pretty sure that's what I'll be doing next year.

No Bryn, you've broken the rule of myBB. Nothing I say can be remotely agreed with by any other poster, without the internet exploding :p

The problem with a good antivirus is that it's a lot like a condom: it can get in the way of some things, and if it does its job you never really know it (it's not like a baby pops out nine months later and then disappears with a booming voice that says "Oh wait, you were wearing a condom - you're safe!!!").

According to these tests Bit Defender slows down PC's more than what Kaspersky does.

Bit Defender

Kaspersky

Kaspersky doesn't offer a family pack with unlimited installations though, so not really an option for me. And Bitdefender actually looks faster overall - web browsing is where it doesn't do too great comparatively. And those performance hits are mitigated by fast hardware anyway.

Also, Kaspersky is Russian. Not sure if that's cause for concern.
