Hi Guys

Me again with my lack of network knowledge...

When I plug my E367 directly into my PC I get the "Light Blue"-indicator
When I plug my E367 into the MR3020 I get the "Dark Blue"-indicator

USB slot and Router are virtually 10cm's apart.

Any setting that I am missing?

Thx

Read f*&^#% manual.
Dark blue means 3G connection. It shows when 3G connection is made but (usually) no data is transfered.
Ligh blue: modem is negotiating HS(?)PA or HSPA+ data transfer.
It indicate that some background programs on your PC start transfering data.

I should've made myself a bit more clear.

WHILE USING THE MODEM and DOING a SPEEDTEST I get those colours.

Via MR3020 about 0.4Mbps down and
Via USB about 1.2Mbps

Thx, I will do a test again on Monday, Maybe my modem is on GPRS or EDGE but the green LED is already on week-end having a dop!

UPDATE: next morning

Believe it or not, in my new office I have a spot (sphere) with a radius of about 2.5 cm EXACTLY where the USB port is located. If I move the Router (actually turn the MR3020) so that it falls within that spot, the light IMMEDIATELY turns "Light Blue" the moment I move it as much as 10cm's away it drops down in speed and is lit with the "Dark Blue"

I have now done this a few times and can produce this every time.

I carry on working on the Internet for probably an hour with a solid "Dark Blue" LED with horrendous speeds, If I move the router to that tiny little spot it turns "Light Blue" with 4 to 5 times the speed.

Can I really have such a tiny little HSPA+ spot??

Lastly, if you don't believe me, feel free. I'm sitting right next to this set-up and I'm not believing this either.

Conclusion: It's a signal issue and not a setting that I missed on the router.

PS. Awesome little router though, I suggest you head over to dbg.co.za and check them out.

With data transfer tests you make it right, I was wrong. :)

I can tell you that I played location game many times, it is helping a lot, even made in-cable filter to get it working with longer cable. With router you can extend this area, so finding a right spot will be not difficult.
It is definitely wrong with reception if modem cannot negotiate speeds faster than 3G. Think about corner antenna or cable connected antenna.

@sajunky

Cool reply, thx!

Will look into your suggestions! Thank You.

Lol'd at your "...I can tell you that I played location game many times..."

Till later questions then.
