It is easy, the ANC use Race and Apartheid to try get votes and sympathy, they will continue using this crap until the end of time, that is why you have to stop voting ANC ;)
Many on this forum do the same ;)

Johannesburg - The second policeman in the alleged altercation with ANC veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela said he would not apologise for doing "his job", the Rapport reported on Sunday.

"Mama Winnie is making this a racist issue. I am black. How can I be racist towards other blacks. I will not apologise for doing my job," said Constable Abel Twala.

Twala was with Warrant Officer Jannie Odendaal when they stopped Madikizela-Mandela's car on the M1 North in Johannesburg on December 30 because it was allegedly being driven recklessly at 150 kilometres per hour.

The officers said they believed the silver Audi A6 with tinted windows was "suspicious".

But after stopping the vehicle, a bodyguard got out and told Odendaal Madikizela-Mandela was in the car.

An argument between the bodyguards and policemen is alleged to have ensued.

The bodyguards have laid a complaint with police of pointing a firearm and intimidation.

The policemen face an internal investigation.

In line with the police's internal disciplinary regulations the officers were temporally transferred until the investigation is concluded. They also had to hand in their guns.

"Due to the fact that the criminal charges are firearm-related, members were requested to hand in their firearms pending the outcome of the investigation," Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Neville Malila said on Thursday.

"Tomorrow (Monday) we will be going to the provincial office to explain to our director why we should not be suspended. I am happy to go to court to state my case," Twala said.

City Press reported that the two would be served with crimen injuria charges on Monday.

At least the cop sees through it, he's complaining about Winnie making it a race issue.

Why are you "angry" about this article anyway, it actually clears up a few things about the incident that didn't sound right before, i.e. the cops getting transferred and the second cop's opinion.

And most people on this forum are completely anti-ANC and anyone would get shot down immediately for using race and apartheid as excuses for various things. It's like you're fighting third forces on the forum!

I think you'll find that the majority of voters out there choose the ANC because there aren't really any alternatives that represent the majority.

I voted DA fwiw.

Why don't our police forces have dashboard cameras on their cars like US police vehicles. It would stop so much of these "he said she said" stories when it comes to these so called VIP's and their tendency to abuse priveledges

Because they'd cost a fortune there's no budget for and get broken or stolen in the first week.

Was that a trick question?

What's truly odd & fishy is how fast these cops got transferred and their guns taken away. There are many cases where criminal cops have continued to work long after revelations of criminality had been exposed in the media. All we hear is 'we're still going to investigate'... a case in point is those cops in Pretoria shown on carte blanche man handling a woman over parking.

marine1 posts an article & then proceeds to give an opinion which relates f-all to his own source as usual;)

It doesn't cost a fortune. I actually did research on this once and submitted it to the DA office in Capetown as I wanted to do CCTV within the cop cars for the Capetown CBD as a test phase (At my own cost for 2 cars).

I never got any response  so I left it. Will have to go look at it again I should still have it somewhere. It's 1 camera and an onboard (Car PC.)

The Americans have got this. As you say, it would help to support police in arrests, at least no BS allegations of cop brutality.

Yes, but God forbid you have an idea and submit it to Government...

I was prepared to pay for the test phase and then we could have built up from there, but they obviously weren't interrested.

I guess people are more willing to moan and groan then do something about it. I do commend you for your activism, though.

Hats off to you for that Pitbull. Have you tried approaching other police forces? Other Metros?
Just an idea.

Also would you need a complete PC? Surely there is something small enough just to record video to a portable drive? We could throw some ideas around off this thread if you are keen. I honestly belive the cost would not be much compared to the gains in effective policing, even if it is just on the road traffic side.

Agreed on both accounts :)

A mobile DVR, there are systems developed for this purpose with shock systems for the hard drive etc. Also built to run off 12V DC etc. I work with these systems and would be more than happy to help with specifications and pricing etc.

I have everything needed, suppliers and what not. (You get specific devices for this type of recording) Obviously prices vary depending on the needs. Some come with 3g/GPRS where you can actually log on to them remotely if there is a "pullover" The opperator in the call centre can log onto the specific device and watch the recording. Various different options as I said.

Dono, wish I knew who to speak to. I have done my homework on it and just need someone willing to sit and listen who has the authority to make a call on such matters.

Ooo, damn should have talked about it on this website before

Got people who I should be speaking to via PM. Places I actually never thought off. Will keep you guys updated. I will just have to rework my previous "business plan" since it was a year or so ago.

If you are interested I can lend a hand with the project (getting cams into cars) I know some people and some stuff :P pm me if you need a hand.

EDIT: Im in CPT

Rubbish. Why can't the DA represent the majority?

Didn't help the white cop who got lambasted by the president of the country for daring to arrest a black "scholar" :erm:
