Black rape furore

I think the likelihood of the perpetrators reasoning lies more in an abusive upbringing than a superstition. A lot of South Africans live in very sick environments.

From the start is was blamed on culture, I think it is because there is no clear lines to which religion traditional healers/sangomas belong and who visits them. Yes it is 99% black people. But from which religion? Lines are so blurred in black culture with religion and culture its kinda made up as they go with the cornerstone in tradition.
Just demonstrates your ignorance

Still not acknowledging the point. Again nobody claimed it's the black community in general. It's IN the black community.

I agree with this - that is my gripe. How is it related to culture then?

Not in the Indian, Chinese, Porra, Irish or white community. Claiming it's just people doing it is sidestepping the issue.

In the grand scheme of things, kids are molested all over the world for various reasons. Whether a person wants to rape a kid because he gets enjoyment out of it or because a witch doctor told him it will cure him is irrelevant in regards to race. Nobody is making a deal that indians stand on infants to "bless them" and nobody is going to say it's indian culture to stand on kids. The problem here is the world culture.

The problem isn't just one of education. Zuma is educated enough to know that washing in the shower won't prevent aids yet he believes it not because there's a magical glow to someone in an animal skin but because his tradition holds that it's a person of authority.

and some people are educated enough to have a job, a car and to get onto a forum, but they still believe in bull**** like talking snakes, burning bushes, white genocides and that homosexuals are the spawn of satan. anyway, a lot of people here would debate how educated Zuma is in any case. you have people forgoing surgery, trying to "pray" cancer away.

The point? This is not about body parts but raping young children/babies to cure aids. Traditional medicine perhaps but not muti.

it's about primitive practices which can be abused. you have a league of traditional healers protesting AGAINST this, so how can it be culture?

Since we're on the subject of primitive practices, can I regard white south Africans as primitive and barbaric for their actions and support of apartheid for so long? The misinformation they spread by church and state over things like intelligence and skull thickness and education or lack thereof.

The ones that support(ed) it and perpetuate that BS - yes, by all means.

No no...all whites. Because how do we pinpoint the ones that supported it? We can't. But someone is to blame, right? So unfortunately it has to be all of 'em, right, wikk3d?

I'm assuming so, based on:

...even though it has been pointed out umpteen times that not all blacks or even a fraction thereof practice this baby rape BS.

Damn white cultural problems!

Yeah, man. This sort of stuff goes on in the 'burbs all the time! There are always exceptions to rules but it sure as hell doesn't prove that this practice, specifically with the intent to cure AIDS, happens proportionately amongst whites and blacks.

The only evidence in recent times that the motive is to cure rape is a story from Zimbabwe. Can you find any more?

Not irrelevant. Firstly it's not just kids being molested but babies being raped. Secondly as we keep highlighting it's not happening to a large extent outside the black community. It's also not happening outside the black community because of "witch doctors." That's what makes it about race and culture as it's black culture that holds them as people of authority.

Nobody is making a deal that indians stand on infants to "bless them" and nobody is going to say it's indian culture to stand on kids. The problem here is the world culture.
If it's happening exclusively among the Indian population then yes it is Indian culture.

Now you're just trying to pick a fight and going towards irrelevancies.

Again it is culture that's enabling a person abusing these practices to be seen as an authority figure. That some are pretesting against it does not change the fact that both are culturally seen as people of authority.

Are black people blowing themselves up with suicide vests? Are black people praying to a wall? Are black people sacrificing their first born sons?

Your generalisation of the black community has the same effect of me lumping afrikaans and english people together and saying white people love to throw people into concentration camps, which means it IS about race to you or you would make more effort of making a distinction.

As I've asked a hundred times now, which culture is encouraging this? Don't shrug and say "gee, I dunno.", because if it is only zulus doing this, you need to rephrase your comment and say "it's a cultural practice amongst zulus." Don't do what every generalising knob does and make a blanket statement, it's intellectually lazy and weak.

Do you know what is an even more common denominator? Education and beliefs. You have no way of telling how many people turn DOWN the sangomas advice either. People are as unique as the weather forecast and it's easier for you to say it's culture that while something is predominant in one community, it's a fraction of that community doing it

Again it is culture that's enabling a person abusing these practices to be seen as an authority figure. That some are pretesting against it does not change the fact that both are culturally seen as people of authority.

No, it is lack of education. It is not culture for women to be mislead and raped by a pastor nor is is culture to be recruited into extremist beliefs, these are isolated incidents.

Saying it's culture is applying a negative to an entire group.

I'm through arguing with you. You keep misconstruing my points. I specifically said on a number of occasions that it's a practice among black people but not all black people but you keep claiming I'm generalising.

Plenty that go unreported...

Or they just use it a cop-out to ease the humiliation. I mean, if someone gets caught raping a baby, what're they going to say? "Well, i just love ****ing babies /shrug". Probably not.

I think most will say "It wasn't me."
