I have this problem..

I've saved as tiff ext. and get black thumbnails in explorer. I'm on Win2k.... its bothering me...

Seems to be a windows problem (maybe not, as i'm a dumbass tinkle) I saved as tiff using corel paint and irfanview, Corel gives a black thumb, and irfan gives a white thumb.

Any solutions - i've googled a bit, but blah, blah. Saw one post where i need to delete the photos - cache, wheres this kept?

get windows xp man

it could be that irfan and corel dont like 2000

have u tried saving as jpeg, does the same thing happen?

Jpeg is fine.. just tiff thats the prob.

XP - nah... either wait ill next windows OS, or unbunu....

maybe windows 2000 does not like a tiff file

have u taken said tiff file and opened it on another computer?

try ubuntu and see if it works

I have used .tiff files in Windows 2000. Worked fine. However, you are better off switching to Ubuntu and burning all traces of M$ products you may have,

I got ubuntu on other partition, but dont use it anymore.. and not interested in shutting pc down, just to do that. Would rather just try and sort it out on my beloved win2k.

I can view tiff files through the piture viewing/editing progs, but just cant see the photo in thumbnail view in explorer.

I cant go over to ubuntu, as much as i would like to - for 2 reasons. ADSL is a must (ADSL is now where near where i am, actually, prolly never be availble here), and secondly, i have a windows based program that i need - Legacy, not sure how it will fare on ubuntu via one of the progs you use to run windows progs on unbuntu...

I thought the thread was about you gone goth and now wanting to remove the nailpolish!!! :D

You see i just need i dont need anymore progs. Explorer can view thumbs no probs, just not tiffy ones for some flippin reason, there has to be some workaround, or some conflict or crap on my PC.
