Hi

did a stupid thing and dropped my beloved blackberry. Inside screen has a black splotch on one side and a line down the center. Still receiving emails and calls though. Funny thing is that the casing does not have a scratch or dent on it!

Anyways - who knows repair places for this? Or is this not economically viable? Last i checked it costs R4400-00 out of contract!

hope someone can offer a better solution than Vodacom customer care!

Have you insured it?

Screen replacement on my I-mate was R2500 , luckily i insured it ;) Had the exact same kind of damage, screen got a black blotch/crack but it still rang/functioned. You will probably have to talk to a Voda/MTN shop who sells these things to find out who repairs blackberries. Usually they can tell you immediately what a screen replacement will cost .

eks in Suid Afrika

Been to Vodaworld - R3800 to replace lcd
New one costs R4800.

Get this - I can get it repaired in the UK for much much less and also buy one off ebay for ÂŁ100!

Should have been insured.

If anyone still has any better suggestions please post!

Ouch, sounds like a bit of a rip-off there. I can only guess it's probably a mission to replace [i.e. taking entire phone apart?]. Not even a laptop LCD replacement is that much!

I know in some instances a "screen replacement" actually means "replace the motherboard AND screen" , the only thing you actually don't pay for is the cover :/

Say... "Blackberry told me to bring in it to you, for a replacement"

By seeing this mobile people are very exciting to purchase and it is not launched in India and we are waiting for that. Blackberry in black colour is looking very nice.

you can search a local blackberry repair shop and get a new LCD for R200-R600
