A problem started on my BB on Friday after I had done a couple of App upgrades. Basically the cursor now jumps all over the screen and it is pretty difficult to control browsing and typing an email, SMS or BBM. I have googled the issue and it seems to be a fairly common problem, although my issue is not a sensitivity to light as is the case of other BB users.

While reading a few forum posts, I am still not able to determine a definitive 'fix' for the problem. There have been a range of suggestions from doing a battery removal reboot and total reinstall, to some saying that it is not a software issue but the trackpad device itself.

Is there anyone out there who has had the same problem and / or knows something on how to address this?

Thanks!

Had this problem twice myself, it affects almost all 9300's, only real solution is to return it to your ISP, they will sit with it for 3 weeks and then give you a refurbished unit, you then just need to hope the refurb does not get the same problem like mine just did. What worked for a few days was taking a business card, cut it to about a 1/4 and put it under the battery near the top, this helped me for a few days, but once that wears off it will stop for good. and your phone will essentially be useless. The problem is hardware related and cannot be fixed b any amount of battery pulls, phone resets or software installs.

You absolute best solution would be to get a new phone that's not a 9300, but that's most likely not a real option so suffering without 1 for 3 weeks and hoping it does not reoccur is your best bet.

@Cranial, I appreciate your reply but have to ask ... I cant understand how putting a business card under the battery will help the trackpad? The trackpad is under hard casing so not sure how this would be affected by something under the battery? It is ironically silightly better now but still does jump about.
Thanks,
Greggle

Have not got the foggiest idea, i found it in a google search. my trackball stopped working all together rite from the get go, put in the card as suggested and got another week out of it, moved the card and got 1 more week, then i had no choice but to send it in.
