What's this about Blackberry and free internet access? This is what I keep hearing. I thought this R60 deal covered Facebook and Twitter, but apparently you get free unlimited internet access? I don't know. Sceptical. :erm:

I hear the service isn't all that good. Do you have to access the internet from your blackberry or can you tether it to a PC and still get "free unlimited internet".

I see. So you can't tether? And downloads are restricted to certain sizes, I've been reading.

Get the 8ta 2+1GB for R150 which lasts for 2 months. That gives you 1.5GB per month of ACTUAL internet. And you wont have to wait a minute or two for google to load.

I would say service is more handset dependant. I have a 9300 Curve and never had problems with BIS where my wife has the 8520 and its not that great. We are both on Vodacom (and contract).

I just got my daughter a 9300 Curve on her CellC contract and the service is also very good.

But the only reason why we went BB is to stay in touch with family who prefer to use BBM and I found my Android phone was using too much data to consider switching us all to Android (used avg of 500MB a month on Android).

Actually BIS on 8ta is lightning fast and they're currently giving you a 500mb "YouTube" allowance which, from my experience, can be used for just about anything (I've even used the SIM card in my 3G dongle). :)

Pls, what network profile settings should i use for MTN inorder to use the SIM card in my 3G dongle? (don't know if you have an idea)

I'm moving to 8ta today. As soon as I get 60 bucks. I'm moving away from vodacom and their semi-capped BIS service that never usualy picks up to more than 2kbs.

Very few people actually use the internet service.
People get BIS for BBM and Facebook and Email.

If your're buying data rather use it on your laptop/PC.

I like the BB for Chatting on BBM as well as FB when I am not home. R59 is not all that back when you consider what u get with it. FB chews data up so I have noticed my cell phone bill has come down considerably since switching over to BB in Feb :)

The greatest day of my BlackBerry User life was when I left those pieces of ****, Vodacom, and went onto 8.ta. I decided to take the knock and pay for Vodacom BIS (since it's embedded in the contract and can't be excluded) without using so they're getting my R62 a month for nothing....but I'm not going back to Vodacom for a loooooooooooooooooooooong time.
