Hey folks, I have a blackberry bold 9000 on mtn and I am just wondering if there is still available. The reason I ask this is because my trackball is going again and last time they just gave me a new phone, but I had to wait 2 months because they had trouble to get stock. Now, it is almost a year later and if they struggled then with stock, they probably will again. What happens if they don't have any stock left? Will they import?

nope....no one stocks it anymore as its too old.....they might have to order the part (trackball) and re-fit.....best option is to buy a trackball online(saw many on Bidorbuy) and get someone to fit it for you

It is still under warrenty, so I can just take it in. But I don't want to wait that long without a phone. My upgrade is due in two months will send it in at the same time then. I know they don't fix the stuff here so what is going to happen then? They going to give me a similar phone?

They will get you a new one, the Bold 9000 is still on their price list but expect the usual 6 weeks for them to get it. Recently I've found a drop of water (drop it with your finger on the trackball) and rub vigorously with a cloth works quite well.

Hey, I think I will first try the cheap option. When my warranty expires I will make use of berryfix. The bold 9000 is still the best phone I ever had, the trackball is just a shame. If I have my other phone I won't mind to wait the six weeks.

MTN have the bold 9000 and bold 9700 on their Aug-Sept Promotions/Special booklet ...... so obviously they should have stock somewhere [otherwise why promote the contracts?]

Actually here is their BB specials currently running and the BB 9000 is on there , so i don't see why anyone would say "it's too old" :

I went to mtn yesterday, the bold 9000 goes for more than the bold 9700 on contract. But I think the bold 9000 that they sell now has higher specs than my one. I don't think my camera is 2Megapixels. But they said they might just replace my white ball with the black one as it lasts longer.
