BlackBerry Bold here

On the BlackBerry side of things - I think your patience will pay off ;)
The Storm indeed seems more appealing :)

Nice - I like a fully functional keypad.

and i dont know about u guys but for **** sakes i'm getting really tired of always waiting for the next big phone thing, for crying out loud, i've been waiting now for 2 yrs for something decent to come along!!!

still dunno what the point of this announcement is cause theres still **** all stock!!!!!

Nokia E71/iPhone/Samsung OMNIA/HTC Touch CMDA/Blackberry Bold

I just think at the moment, the Nokia phone does it for me. If I could get Blackberry's push email feature on the E71, then I would look any further....

Feeling your pain. And there is really no channel to vent frustration.

i'm having more than pain, i'm about to self combust in utter frustration...
then again, i just need to smash an iPhone against the wall and I think that will make me feel better for a little while

What is so revolutionary about the Blackberry Bold? I had a brief look on the net and couldn't much appealing apart form the push email service which is their trademark feature and nothing new...

Does a phone have to be revolutionary to be worth having?

I've been using blackberrys for years now and wouldnt even consider anything else here in SA. The Bold looks like a huge improvement on the existing models with its 3G, Wifi, better screen etc.

No, not necessarily I admit, but that brings into question why someone would change phones apart from one being more aesthetically pleasing than another. However I have seen/heard a lot of talk about this phone and coming from a marketing background, am just interested in what this phone has that warrants such buzz. The 3G, Wifi etc are becoming/have become standard features on most new phones which makes me want to applaud Blackberry's marketing team more than their development team...

well as from the E71 there wont be any Blackberry software that you can install to get push email as with a Blackberry handset the last phone to have the blackberry connect was the E61i. so sorry nokia does not support that anymore apparently they *(nokia) are working on their own push email.

email.nokia.com has been live for a while now. As for push, you can accomplish that with 3rd-party apps, like Emoze linked earlier in this thread.

just reading up, apparently the BB Storm isnt measuring up very well, the Bold still seems to be the better choice. Only thing that concerns me is GPS software for the Bold, or is the installed BB maps good enough? Anyone used BB maps? Wonder what Garmin for BB Bold costs?

Can you post some links where you have ready this dudleygp? I would like to make sure my decision is informative, so any info you have found I would like to see please.
