Blackberry bold software update

dudleygb, you can still use the BlackBerry Maps, but you wont have voice navigation, however there are pay for third party gps apps like telenav and telemap which are supposedly quite good.

Areed, seems the 3rd party app is the only way to get voice navigation, otherwise, i have been reading and a lot of ppl are also using google maps with their BB Bold.

Google maps is horrible in SA and from what I've seen mostly useless. Its only fine for national roads and main roads mostly.

The is it not a better option to spend the 1500 to 2k buy in and get Vodacoms deal which has BB SatNav? What do you reckon?

I got my unit on Vodacom, my previous Curve has the maps on it too great software and a real saving seeing as you don't have to rush out and buy the Garmin stuff!

i agree, Cellucity are having a special 479pm for the same deal, probably why the MTN deal is cheaper, because it doesnt come with the voice nav software license for the 2 years. Then again, if u going to pay in 2K, u can get a whole new seperate Nuvi for the same money....? So then the MTN deal is still good, in this case.

for this reason i decided to stay with the Omnia, still got mine for only R264pm, everything inclusive, I couldnt refuse
