About to get this phone this weekend, anyone out there have an opinion on this phone? read a few reviews and these doesn't seem to be any big issues with it

if you can afford it get a bold, then go to www.crackberry.com and download some free apps for it.

otherwise if you prefer touch screen go for a Storm 2.

i've been messing around with a bold today and it is superb!

Its a little dated but it's really not much that different to the newer 8520 - I prefer its trackball to the trackpad on the 8520.

Big qn is how much are you paying for it?

Yeah, in some aspects the 8310 still beats the 8520 - GPS for one! I mean, it's the same phone except for the trackpad and GPS... And WiFi's thrown in...

Its R339 / month on the MTN Anytime 200 and includes the bis subscription

I'm kind of surprised that they're not giving you the newer model for that sort of money.

I will rather pay the extra R10 per month and go for the 8900. Much faster and more memory, incl WIFI.

Try & get the Curve 8900 , this also has GPS + WiFi and the trackball and looks well newer since it is newer. :)

I got my Curve 8900 for free but I upgraded from a Procall 300 to a Anytime 750 plus I got free BES/BIS and other incentives ....

alright gentlemen, got the 8310 up and running and managed to set up the email pretty easily, got the maps up and running as well. track ball is awesome but feels a bit flimsy, anyhoo, just want to know how do you tell if you're using the BIS for the data or your airtime credit?

just make sure the TCP (options > Advanced) APN is set to blackberry
