BlackBerry Curve 9360 details surface

I am not impressed. It is not a revolutionary upgrade. One would expect more from a company that is figting for survival. Moreover, it is just unacceptable that the new operating system is not coming to the Torch! The sooner RIM bites in the dust, the better!
 
Sigh if we could only get a BIS like service on any phone that would be nice, Android rocks. :D

uhm just get 1Gb and whatsapp :) I rarely see a BB user go over 1GB...and if they do it's normally just the first month...
I struggle to do 1Gb on my android phone...and i download and surf a LOT

What other features would you want for an entry level phone? The specs are comparable the bold 9780. I don't get it, why do ppl who dislike RIM and Blackberry so much always storm to post crap about them. If you don't like it, then ignore it. The hardware that the new operating system requires are not available on the older models, including the 9800. The new OS7 phones will be more than enough to keep Blackberry fans happy until QNX arrives, which I would predict is probably somewhere late 2012. Stop hatin', if you have nothing conducive to say, STFU :-)

Go and look at an equivalent Android phone and you can see what features you get on an entry level phone. I own and don't have anything against Blackberry's per se, but their hardware is dated, their software fragmented and their app store tiny. That's probably why some analysts think they will go bankrupt sooner rather rather than later, and their staff are writing open letters to their management complaining about the company.

But if its good for you then great, just don't try and stifle debate, good or bad.

There was hardly anything debatable in your first post. I agree, like for like you will get better hardware on the android platform for the same price. Android has a bigger fragmentation problem. And I never got why people keep bringing up the lack of apps? The lack of what apps? What use is 300000 apps when all you need is say 10 on average? You should check out reviews about their new phones, doesn't seem bad at all. Instead of wishing RIM dies, I wish they would step up with something awesome, which will hopefully be great. Competition is good.
 
What I like about BB is: full keyboard first and foremost; plus all in one email and web: which Android phone would best meet those needs? (serious question - I'm not stirring but rather considering my options between this upcoming BB and alternatives)
 
Hey guys :)

Looking into getting the 9360 this weekend. It looks to me that not one of the service providers has this device in stock yet. I can only find it at CaCell and Xpansys. Do you guys think I should get this device from them? I was at a MTN branch today and they told me that they will probably only have this device in about 2 months, waiting that long is not an option.

The thing that is worrying me about getting from CaCell for example is firstly bad service, and secondly BIS. Will I be able to use BIS on Vodacom with this device even though they are not selling it yet?

Or are there other Blackberries in this price and spec range that I can look at?

I'm sitting tight on my old phone for now - no way I'm paying R459/m for a 9900 so have to wait for these to arrive.
 
Anybody, where exactly is this CaCell store? Been waiting for the curve 9360, Vodacom says it is still in testing. Whatever that means
