Maybe not quite the place but I thought more appropiate that the development section.

Any Blackberry devs on the forum? Just curious as am breaking into it at the moment.

Well as I understand it you have two paths you can follow with dev on the blackberry, web and app based.

Web based is basicly formating your chosen web page path ( ASP, PHP etc ) for the blackberry and hosting it whereas app based is only possible through java now. There used to be software called MDS Studio which was RIM leveraging a common code platform for its phones and as I understand you would have to have installed a mds platform on the phone as well. Similar to a .Net based platform I suppose. They have now dropped this in favour of pure Java based app devlopment which can be done via Eclipse.

Some of the resources I've looked at :

BlackBerry Dev Portal: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/
BlackBerry Java Devlopment : http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/javaappdev/
How to set up the dev environment: http://na.blackberry.com/developers/resources/A1_Setting_up_necessary_tools_v5.0.pdf
Blackberry Java Development Fundamentals Guide: http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/deliverables/5827/

A great forum for BlackBerry, including devlopment and administration is: BlackBerry Forums
