Blackberry for Internet Service

I'm bery (sic) tempted to buy a blackberry only for the cool Internet service. Are they nice phones otherwise? Which cheapish blackberry would you recommend?

Cheap would be the 8520 for R150 on MTN and Vodacom. Better to get a 3G berry like the Bold 9700 or Storm 2 (between R360-420). Make sure your contract includes BIS. I love my Bold.

Don't get the entry-level BlackBerry Curve 8520, as for the money you may as well get a better Nokia or Samsung. If you've got the cash you can't go wrong with the Bold 9000 or Curve 8900. Best thing would be to wait a while for the Bold 9700 to come out though, looks AWESOME! The Storm 2 (9500) also looks pretty sweet if you want a touchscreen.

I'm talking about buying it outright. Not on contract. I would then subscribe to the BIS on my prepaid sim if that is possible?

I'm waiting patiently for the bold 9700 to come out so i can get me a bold 9000.. i reckon after this christmas/new yr period +/-2 or 3 weeks they will push them out? bold9000 is like over a yr old btw and the contracts they pushing for it works out to it being hectically over valued

A good phone - my mate offered me his bold when he switched to the iphone. Of course I said thank you very much even though it was DOA when I got it. Took it in for repairs and vodacom replaced it with a new one. Score one for me.
