Does anyone know if or when the new Blackberry Keyone is coming to SA? Any network gonna carry this phone? I'm eager to get my hands on it. It's been released for 2 months already but nothing happening on any of the service providers websites or even when calling them...

I can never understand the allure of a physical keyboard on a smartphone.

Interesting, it is quite expensive. Hopefully not more than that so I can still pick one up.

Got mine today from CelluCity Cavendish CT. Worth the wait, it's frikkin awesome phone. I've been hanging on to a BB Classic.

Lucky i have exchange so all contacts and calendars transferred no problem.
Not sure how you would do that from OS10

I lost my whatsapp messages (because i was useing the android version after they said December 2016 was cutoff and it wouldn't let me backup my chats) - but i couldn't care less.

:crylaugh:

There's an app that lets you migrate everything from BB10 to Android on BlackBerry. Works really well.

Just wanted to let you all know I finally got mine on Saturday and I'm super happy with it. Just need to find myself a tempered glass protector and a cover.

I don't think I have ever seen a blackberry with that. Can you even get it ?

I dropped all mine plenty including the classic which has the previous version of gorilla glass and only got a few scratches and dents on the metal frame.

I think worst case the whole screen might pop out but according to what I read our KEYone's we got were the 2nd batch after they fixed that problem.

Cellucity Pre-order page has the Black edition with a Vodacom Launch date of end November

Hello there - has anyone else upgraded / ordered the BlackBerry Keyone from Vodacom online...receiving confirmation calls...yet a month later, and no phone delivery at all?
I've also phoned them weekly, saying it is on back order, then that there is stock and it should be released soon, and then back to back order.

I understand that the BlackBerry will definitely not be as popular as the Samsungs and iPhones of the world..but when can one expect stock to arrive?
My current cell dying, and I'm a physical QWERY keyboard enthusiast, and quite set on the Keyone...

That's vodacom for you, they have plenty of stock of the other brands but won't keep stock of Phones that don't sell as well.

Have you tried going in store or maybe try a cellucity store

Yep!

The stores I have visited don't have stock, and they also tell me it is on back order.

I contacted Cellucity earlier today, and they too are waiting on stock.

It is just the weirdest thing - the day I hit the upgrade option on Vodacom online, it showed in stock. But somehow once everything was processed, all the stock magically evaporated :crylaugh:

I'm so pissed off, I'm laughing.

what package did you want to take ?

I see Takealot has it in stock for R6899, maybe you can buy with your credit card and only upgrade the sim

Just the normal upgrade and went to a smart top-up plan (to risk not going out of bundle with Data which I have done before). I then saw the one with the R1000 back deal, which is also not available although the site says 'in stock'.

I saw the one on Takealot, but they get their stock from Cellucity. Cellucity confirmed that though it says stock is available, they don't actually have any, so I would be in the same pickle.

Thanks for helping Sumen :) I basically just wanted to type my frustration out somewhere

No problem, I went around the whole mall to every vodacom store looking for the Nokia 5, I eventually told my dad to buy it cash.
