Blackberry on Prepaid?

This thread is exactly what I have been struggling with, and I came to the same conclusion.

My current daily use phones are:
1 - Nokia E90 on Talk 500 ( I use this for all my calls and some browsing About 6-10Mb per month. I also check my gmail account from here)
2 - Samsung i780 on prepaid (I use this for checking my email on my server via Imap and web browsing as the opera browser on it is awesome, and as a GPS)

And then I got one of these "free" 7290's

For years I have been able to check my mail via my phones when ever i need to and the imap on my i780 allows me to get my instantly ( for the sake of my batt and sanity i have it check hourly from 8-5 and not at night or weekends.)

I have my mail server forward all my mail to a gmail account and have the gmail ap on both phones and find it awesome.

So now as far as I can tell for R59 a month with BB I will get
Unlimited email and web (This currently costs me about R55 on prepaid for my i780 every 4-5 months and I use it allot as it is prepaid)

I don't see how anyone can use R59 worth of browsing via their phone monthly and if you could it would not be consistently I imagine. and I am talking on phone browsing not via a usb to a laptop as BB charge for this separately.

It seems that everyone I know is going over to the BB service and they are all happy, what an I missing. The phones seems very limited in their functionality. Can't run simple things like fring as far as I know, you need permission form your service provider to setup mail accounts and even browse the Internet, so It seems they can easily lock you into the BB thing.

What am I missing there I think I am going to spend the R59 on prepaid for one month and see if the free 7290 I got will convince me to get a BB for my upgrade in 2 months time.

I do the very same thing with my blackberry - gmail's spam filtering is awesome.

I have no doubt that for the browsing and messaging I do the blackberry service saves me more than r59. I look at how much data my iphone burns through and wish Vodacom would offer a similar plan for it so I could afford to use it outside of wifi areas.

Vodacom's crackberry service is around R59 per month on prepaid *111# and MTN's around R60 pm
