I am keen on this one. Unlimited internet access, instant messaging, 10 email accounts, satnav etc... all for R59 a month. This is really cool.

So I phoned sales department at Vodaworld and asked them for a quotation of BB 9000 and my eyes were wide open after looking at R10,000. So it's better to buy an unlocked BB 9000. Question is if I buy an unlocked blackberry from a china shop or from junk mail will all these functions work. If yes this is a great deal.

Check this site and I did send my friend who is staying in FS to pay a visit and these guys do exist.

apparently my pal did check the place and had a small chat with them too he sounded like they are importers from China hell all the Gizmotonics are from China these days anyway. Let's say those guys do exist, will all BB functions work with vodacom prepaid @ R59/month. Has anyone tried an unlocked BB with vodacom prepaid.

I can get blackberry tours, unlocked for about r6000 and i use one with a prepaid set up and it works like a dream since vodacom fixed their network.

Based on those prices, the BB's listed there must be clones or stolen. Either way, it is illegal. You are bound to run into problems with stuff not working. We are battling to get the legal BB's to work properly, and you want to try a clone? You get what you pay for.

The ones i can get arent clones at all ! It is a fully unlcoked verizon blackberry tour(9630) and works 100%

I was referring to the original post. Compare the price of a BB Tour 9630 on that list (R2 600) with your price - R6 000.

Oh okay. Looking at american websites, they go for ruffly $450. R2600 ??? definitly some rip of.

What the crock?!

Looks like a local scammer just opted to enter ZAR amounts instead of the general USD figures that go with that standard SPAM pricelist.

come on guys, SA's first business principle to rip consumers offfff. look at AMAZON or other US based websites. Most of the electronic products are cheap compared to SA market. http://www.apple.com/iphone/buy/ claims Iphone 3Gs for $ 199 why R10,000 in SA or R1000 on contract.

Did you read the website? It's clear that you have to pay $199 plus a rate plan (contract in SA terms).
