BlackBerry Priv

Even better, the Hub now has Attachment View! I missed that.

Network-unlocked STV100-4 BB PRIV just notified me that the update is available. 121.4MB has just downloaded, I'm looking at the little green update Android now.

... and we're done after about 15 minutes of optimising apps. My PRIV now has 6.0.1 build number AAJ043.

Notice any differences, or just security update? I'm downloading the update now.... Vodacom contract Priv

Well nearly thought my phone got bricked while updating. It just died while optimizing apps. I managed to reset phone (power and volume up button) and then it booted up again. First got an error screen with a "dead" Android robot, then it restarted by itself and phone booted as normal.

Any idea wtf happened here... I nearly had a heart attack when everything just died and did not want to respond.

I thought mine was funny too. It had two random reboots and then I switched it off and prayed. But it has been rock solid since. Phew.

Guys, please help. Ever since my software upgrade issue described above, you phone randomly loses sim card connection and then says emergency calls only. It then goes to the sim password screen, and when I put in my password, it has signal again. This has happened about 6 times already today. How do I fix it?

Are you using a proper nano SIM card or was it cut?

You can try removing your SIM card, turn on the device with out sim ,let it boot up,turn off device ,insert sim ,turn on device again and you should get a proper nano sim if you card was cut.

Hi Tahir. Proper Nano Sim. I wouldn't ever use a cut one after learning my lesson with a previous phone which got damaged inside.

I will try your instructions and give feedback whether this has solve the issue. Weirdly, since posting about the problem, it has not happened again. Murphys Law.

Ok so I tried what you said and it's worse than before. I never had this issue until the Feb Security update and / or the update not "optimising app" completely before my phone just died (battery was fully charged before update).

Is there any way to undo the update and download update again, hopefully running.ot through completely this time?

Have you tried clearing dalvik cache since updating?
Sounds like you corrupted update when you powered off. Its normal for a phone to take awhile to reboot after new firmware is loaded or updated.
Maybe do a search and reflash of your full firmware.

When you rebooted phone it might not've been off but still optimising apps.

I did not power off, the phone "died" during the the process. I left it for nearly 2 hours to see if something would happen but nothing did.

How does one go about this Dalvik cache clearing?

Or where would I find the firmware update... Any pointers?

Okay so nothing worked. I spoke to my local Vodacom guys and they said reloading the software would be best, but I have to give in my phone and it has to be sent away ... about 2 weeks. No thanks, I can do it myself.

I am busy reloading my software using this tool: http://us.blackberry.com/support/smartphones/Android-OS-Reload

So far so good ... I will give an update on when done and what the outcome is.

Hi guys. So after reloading the software it did the SIM thing only once again, about 10 mins after the reload was completed. I was so disappointed! Restarted, said a little prayer to ask for patience... And since it has worked without issue again. What a relief.

Back to loving my phone again! Nothing else comes close.

I haven't noticed any changes after the latest update. Were there any significant changes?
