You're talking about here in SA which is probably only a small share of their global market. In most other countries they enjoy much more affordable data rates yet RIM seems to be doing well.The biggest drawcard is the BIS at R59.00 which allows for unlimited email and on device browsing.

If Data rates were to drop drastically to a more affordable level then the Blackberry attraction may not be as great.

True, but they do not hold majority market share, Apple right now pwns this.
I can only speak from an SA perspective, thus my comment that, given our Bandwidth Cash Cow situation, Blackberry is an attractive option at R59.00 per month.
Seen how the uptake of the Blackberry for the masses - 8520, literally brought the VC Bis to its knees not so long ago :erm:
The new kids on the block like the Android revolution are offering features that appeal at more affordable prices.
I am still sold on the Blackberry concept, but the motivation has been purely financial.
Spending R59.00 per month instead of +/- R500.00 on Data Bundles makes sense, or should that be cents![]()
