Blackberry Torch2 9810 Thread

Anyone got one of these 9810's? How's the battery life?

My Xperia X10 needs a replacement, and I also want my data costs down so will have to go the BB route I suppose... current phone using between 1GB and 2GB of data, emails and APP updates etc... hopefully BIS will bring that down...

I received my 9810 last Wednesday from MTN... The battery only last about 3/4 day and then it needs to be charged again.

I usually do a full charge at night, then by about 4pm the battery is drained (red).. Yesterday my fone went off about 5pm, I got home about 6.30pm and put it on to charge, the screen was frozen so I did a rebbot, but now it gets stuck during the reboot process and just shows JVM Error 517

Now I'm back on my old 8520 and will take the 9810 back to MTN, hopefully they'll swop it out (not likely), I'll probably have to wait a month for it to get repaired even though it's under a week old.
 
Thanks, seems the days of charging a phone every 2-3 days are goners :(
I would like a phone to last at least 24 hours, a few friends got the 9900 but they don't seem to last a day either.
Maybe I should wait till next year and see what options I have, thanks again

I need a reliable , local supplier with normal warranty ( not from B.O.B).

Just an update:

I got my phone back, the MTN store did a software update and it's now working, also the battery now last a little longer, till about 11PM or 12AM.. Only a day, but still better than the 8hours I was getting..
 
Just a question:
Why does the MTN network still use EDGE so much? The 9810 is capable of HSPA, but I only ever see 3G and EDGE, and I live in an area with >HSDPA speeds on Vodacom, CellC & 8ta. Is the often-EDGE display a device limitation or MTN limitation.
PS: the non-highspeed capabilities of BB kept me away from them for years. Even when my Nokia was offering HSDPA, BB was only as fast as GPRS and EDGEm
