Ok.
So you are an early adopter, and got yourself the new Blackberry Torch 2, 9810 smartphone.
Let's hear what you have to say/ask.

I'm very happy with my 9800 but now the question is when I upgrade in January, do I get the 9810 or 9900?

If you use you 9800 screen for typing than rather go with the 9810 or wait and see if the local networks offer the 9850/60

with the 9900 the touch screen can't be used for typing.. Also I was told by a friend that some people with having problems with slow touch, while others were quite fast..

I also played with a 9900 and that 1 was a bit too slow for me, so I'm planning to go with the 9810.

I only use the keyboard for typing. The battery life of the 9900 is bothering me. I only get about 14hours between charges on the 9800 so I don't even want to know what I'm going to get on the 9900.

Ok but the 9900 is dual core and 9810 is not... so I don't see how it will be faster.

The Newer phones 9900, 9810, 9850/60 all have "smaller" batteries 1270mAh compared to the 1500mAh on the 9800.. I think this is due to the new models being slimmer..

I taught both had the same processor.. Most websites just state 1.2Ghz but don't mention dual core..

Vodacom Website:
http://www.vodacom.co.za/personal/phonesandpackages/deals?&packageId=2

9810 on Business Call: R284pm. PLUS add another R59 for BIS ("if you want it").
TOTAL: R343pm, with NO MINUTES or DATA.

White 9800 on Business Call: R299pm. PLUS add another R59 for BIS ("if you want it").
TOTAL: R358pm, with NO MINUTES or DATA.

On Tuesday (2011/11/08) I spoke to an agent at their call centre, who knew nothing about the 9810 and that "maybe we will have stock next year". When directed to their website showing that it is available, she cut the call. Typical...

But I see that their catalogue shows the 9810 at R399pm, on a Blackberry contract.

So, for now, MTN still offers better value for money.

What do you mean "NO DATA " ? If you have BIS you have unlimited data.

Check out this thread for the deals http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/315209-Vodacom-SP-Monthly-Deals

Oh and all the talk contracts come with 20 weekend mins included so there are minutes as well.

That's fine if you want a "talk" package, but there's no free minutes or data on Business. You can't download music
Video, stream music, Youtube, etc. So you will still need a ddata plan/pay for data
