I am new to this forum, so please don't bite my head if I post this in the wrong place
I have had ADSL for over a year now. And have been getting these weird ADSL disconnects. Let me give you the problem:
The internet is running all fine, speed is excellent nothing wrong. No ping spikes no nothing. And then out of the blue. No internet. I first thought is was my old ISP and was blaming then. Now I have moved over to a new ISP and everything is better in meaning of speed. Old ISP - thottled me during the day. New ISP - Awesome
The internet cutout thing doesn't happen every hour or everyday, but is does something disconnect a few times a day 1 to 3 times.
I have done some of my own investigation and can't seem to find anything wrong. Line stats are awesome and line filter is new lan cabling is new.
So here is that happens when the internet goes off. The internet light on my Billion modem goes off, and then turns red. While in the meanwhile the DSL light is still green. Login into modem stats page, DSL sync is still syncing but under connection it says:"Connecting, Connecting, Connecting" and then "No Response"
If I unplug the line and put it back, the modem syncs again, but internet is still not connecting. Still showing me: "Connecting, Connecting, Connecting" and then "No Response". Internet will then be offline for about 5 - 15 minutes. Then it will reconnect and everything will be fine again until it happens again.
One thing to note about this is I have tried connecting to Telkom Test Account when this happens and I only get: "Connecting, Connecting, Connecting" and then "No Response", but after a while when the internet connects again, I'm able to connect to Telkom Test Account. But when this happens when I can't connect the line is still synced
