Hi guys from where about and for what price can I get blank dual layer DVD's? I'm planning on getting an xbox 360 but after hearing how games get scratched and melted I'm planning on backing up all my games I purchase. At R600 a pop I'm not gonna risk ruining a game. Any ideas fellas, thanks!

We wsell them at R35 @ Gigazoneretail.co.za

Can get them for cheaper thou

like how much cheaper lol? also where about are you based, I'm all the way up in PTA.

how will backing them up help?

it can scratch and melt my non orginals to its hearts content when playing sp, then i only need to originals when I jam online. Just reducing the risk.

You realise that chipping it might prevent you from jamming online in the first place ;)

yeah, you can only use copies, even in sp, if you chip your xbox. and chipping it can easily render it useless for online play regardless of whether you are using original disks while playing.

I'm planning on getting The globe 360 Mod-Chip: is to be used if you would like to use X-BOX live. The Mod-Chip can be deactivated so that it can not be detected.
PL:EASE NOTE: Only backed-up games from the same region as the console or region free games will work.

So yeah, live and min risk of ruining my games. The reason is I plan on trading in my games often for new ones, so I don't want them to be ruined. I know your thinking I'm another pirate but spending 5k on a xbox and chip plus around 1k a month adsl why would I pay that to not play online? Lol I'm legit.

hey, I hear ya, I have no problem with backing up games. I back up all my cd's 'cause playing them in my car destroys them. Please, once you get this mod up & running, give some feedback.

I will do. Its done through defcon5 in Lynwood Rd, PTA. They did my PS2 and I never had 1 problem. Its pricey at R1200 but if you can keep LIVE functionality I reckon its worth it. Plus you get a 2yr warrenty

R1200 is about two new games, so if it can save 2 games its paid for itself.

Sorry guys back to the original question, you say hypermarket, is that pick n pay, checkers hyper? Anyone know of specific places in PTA east?

b_boy69sa, where are you getting a XBox 360 with that chip pre-installed, or are you having it installed on your 360?

Makra is cheap as well.

I was almost charged R249 for 5 at IC then I went to Computer Mania and got 5 for R200.

Makro - http://www.makro.co.za/ProductDetail.aspx?cat=6398&prod=27704&SKU=000000000000087629|EA

Remember only DVD+R DL's will work for your purpose.

Just bought the Xbox 360 2nd hand Pro edition for R2599 from cash converters, 3 month warrenty so it should help incase it fugs out on me. will check out the chip on monday.
