Hi all do any of you know any good programs for blocking anoying adverts, the internet is cursed with adverts all over of whitch i never bother reading or ever click on, or take any intrest in.

Install Firefox as a browser. By default it blocks quite a few ads (especially pop-ups) and there are additional extensions to tighten it up.

That plugin is awesome, been using it for a few weeks. It's also great for blocking those sites with massive banners that you don't really need to download each time. :P

I block ads using my Squid proxy. Part of the list is:
---------------------------------------
acl ads dstdomain ad.za.doubleclick.net
acl ads dstdomain ad.doubleclick.net
acl ads dstdomain as.coza.com
acl ads dstdomain banner.coza.com
acl ads dstdomain global.msads.net
acl ads dstdomain rocketseed.com
acl adsip dst 168.210.128.88

http_access deny ads
http_access deny adsip
---------------------------------------

You could also include the above list in your hosts file, with IP address of 0.0.0.0
