blocking adverts

Hi all do any of you know any good programs for blocking anoying adverts, the internet is cursed with adverts all over of whitch i never bother reading or ever click on, or take any intrest in.

If you are using Win2000, WinXP then ezFirewall blocks adds for you

Install Firefox as a browser. By default it blocks quite a few ads (especially pop-ups) and there are additional extensions to tighten it up.

You can get Firefox at www.getfirefox.com (If you're not using it by now, what the hell is wrong with you? )

You'll have to train it first though

That plugin is awesome, been using it for a few weeks. It's also great for blocking those sites with massive banners that you don't really need to download each time.

No need for that ... just load a rule file that somebody has done all the hard work before.

You could also include the above list in your hosts file, with IP address of 0.0.0.0
