Blood Pressure...

Hi,

Took my wife to a doctor.

In passing i told him that last week i felt some emptiness in my chest when wakingg up.

He decided to check by blood pressure. Apparently, it is 176 over 108. He claims this is really bad.

Is this really so bad?

I generally feel good.

36 years old.

I imagine he asked you to make an appointment urgently so he can follow this up?

That's really bad yes. Better get it sorted ASAP unless you don't mind an unexpected heart attack.

Could be white coat syndrome but definitely get it checked ASAP, especially if the feeling in your chest is a regular occurrence.

I felt fine and then had 4 heart attacks. I was only 38.

you're about to die... and you need to read that a few times. If that BP measurement is accurate then you are about to die.

1) Go buy an expensive and good BP monitor, I use an Omron M6 (prices have doubled as per normal greedy SA) but please don't buy a R200 BP monitor.

2) Do multiple readings throughout the day.

3) If it is still very high then you need to go on a statin right away.

4) Now you need to change your diet immediately. No more alcohol and junk food etc. Just try it for 1 month... you can do this. Then add a lot of garlic into your diet, crush it then wait 15min and drink it down, a lot of it.

5) No smoking.

6) No more doom and gloom, don't even watch the news or read anything that will stress you out, you need to calm your mind, just chill in the garden, play with the dogs and relax. Stressing is a killer.

7) If you don't do the above today, you'll be dead tomorrow.

The only info I have on him is he is some sort of medical professional living in Sea Point. He likely practices in one of the surrounding hospitals.

I think he’s a Hospital Manager or some such in administration, not actually practising medicine.

If it is white coat syndrome - numbers differing all the time- do the doctors still put you on chronic medication like a person who has high blood pressure?

I think depends on the doctor. My house doc, every time I went, said naw it looks ok.
Then I got my monitor, and recorded multiple times a day for a week. Went back, with the bp monitor. Showed it to him, he went through all the recordings, and only then said ok I do need to go on meds.

Just gonna get the Omron Evolv. R3500, but I guess it is a once off investment

got very good reviews :) and yes it's a lifelong investment.

I've had my M6 for years and years, works like a charm. The new ones have wifi or bluetooth and BP tracking etc, always a handy thing.

Any doctor worth his salt knows it’s a factor, so will take multiple readings or better yet ask you to take them at home and then report back. But, in your case, because it’s so high, they’ll probably want to start treatment right away just to be sure.

Hi,

Sorry to ask this question, but if it needs to be known, then I have to ask.

If you below 16, please do not read further.

Is the following:
1) Good for blood pressure
2) Bad for blood pressure
3) Does not make any difference

- Imagining sex/fantasizing
- Holding erections for long
- Porn
- Sex

Hi,

My uric acid is 0.52 mmol/l
My cholesterol is 5.4

With that, I have high blood pressure.

1. Go see a doctor for BP and cholesterol meds.
2. While on said meds, do active work on changing your lifestyle
3. Keep on doing 2 until you don't need the meds
4. Above all, get a cuff-style BP monitor (avoid the wrist-types, these are no good. And smartwatches doesn't do it well either).
5. Good luck.

The highest contibutors to high BP are :

- stress
- not eating healthy foods
- too much salt in your diet
- sedentary lifestyle (little or no excercise)

Do any of those cause angina? If yes, take it easy until you’ve figured out what’s going on with your BP. Also, what are you doing to “hold erections for long”? Not asking for a friend. Just want to know if you’ve added any chemicals to your body to achieve it.

Also, this. Some penis meds may have other, unwanted effects which may not be apparent... (and I'm not a medical expert, but these days you just can't trust everybody with their dick medication...)

I have been put on 5 MG of Amloc

For Uric Acid and Cholesterol, he says he gives me a month to lose 10 kg, then I won't have to take any medicine. So gave a diet plan with instruction to take 10 000 steps daily.

I am 93 Kg, and height is 1.68. So he recons if I lose weight, everything will sort itself out
