You can buy one (RW) for R11 000 for lanworld near n1 city. they hold 25 GB per disk. don't know how much these are!

Blu Ray

"Blu Ray..... I saw you standing alone...."
Ha ha - sorry, not for me at that price!~

For that I can, Fly to Hong Kong and use an internet cafe to upload that amount of data to an online storage account ;)

.........il wait a year then il buy writer for 500 and disks for 10 rand...........

IDE or SATA?

another thing is that the drive better be SATA, because all these new boards have got 1 IDE, so the next generation of boards will have 0 ide.

besides, you'll still probably be paying your not so new toy off by then.

R10K is a whole chunk of change!

Blu Ray not viable right now and not at those prices. Won't buy 5 empty spinning disc for R700 odd :(
That's insane...

Because of the pricing alone, I'm pushing for HD-DVD rather than Blu.

Special MyADSL price: R7250 (available in black or beige)

If buying player, get the following at cost price:
25GB writeable Blu Ray Disks (5 in jewel boxes): R650
25GB RE-writeable Blu Ray Disks (5 in jewel boxes): R800

I don't think you play movies on those yet.

movies play just fine buddy.

was watching 5th element yesterday, and it is perfectly ok. once you jump through all the hurdles.

sony bwu100 drive, with powerdvd blu-ray edition (labelled as powerdvd 6.6 BD)
