Blu-ray player at Makro

I see Makro have finally started selling blu-ray players. Samsung I think it is for R 5000.00. Kinda sucks cos they advertising the PS3 for R 4500.00.

They will eventually drop when the supply and demane increases. Look at DVD writers. The first one I bought was like 2K. Now they're almost cheaper than CD readers!

Then - PC Blue ray RW drives wil set you back anything from R4850 to R8000. Depends on make and speed.

O, and you have to have the right Tv with your Blue Ray. A R300 movie on a R5000 Blue Ray palyer linked to an R799 JNC 52" TV(the old CRT tipe) will just not cut it!!

well the ps3 drive software can be upgraded where the blue ray players cant so u still better off with the ps3

I also prefer a PS3 over a stand alone player ... especially at the prices they're asking. When the Blu Ray is under R1500,00, then I'd consider.

Anyway, if I remember some reviews the PS3 is actually a very good player

yes they say the ps3 is the best player out and it is the only that can upgrade the firmware
