Blu-ray versus DVD

BLu-Ray DVD is nice, but I prefer xVid compressed movies for the great quality/size.
 
Serries that are 300mb and muvies that are 700mb on my pc only has a slight diff with the 1gig HD serries... I would choose to have more space.
