Problems problems problems

Ok now that, that’s over on to the problem.
All of a sudden today whenever I try to establish a connection with iburst I get a stop error.
Thought it was the network port so I installed the usb drivers and connected the modem to the usb port but it still happens.

So I think it has something to do with the PPPoE connection. Because I’m on 3g now and nothing happens when it connects.
Any ideas?

Can`t give you the dump file there is something wrong with my debugger...

Try modem on another pc and if it works u know its not the modem , then narrow it down from there...

Stop wasting time swapping out hardware etc.Just read the error on screen and look at the memory dump file in c:\windows. It will tell you which file is causing the problem

Yeah and IRQ ;)

Probably not, IRQ paths are set in stone, they're meant to be shared. ;)

But it's a possibility, see if you got the stop error "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL", if it's that then it's IRQ problem which is most probably caused by conflicting drivers.

try get new drivers off there website , see if it help or rollback driver if u can

And the Ethernet port uses drivers as well, be it built-in Windows drivers or the drivers he installed from his motherboard's CD.

Whats the Error Code on the Blue Screen, should be somethingh like 00x...

Yeah, please give us that and the stop error as well. Then we'll be able to figure out precisely what's wrong.

It’s not the Ethernet port because I’m connected to my router now via it and it works fine
Its only when I dial thru it.

Ok how do I set vista so that it doesn’t restart when it gets a stop error?

Oh, you can connect to your router with your ethernet but not dial through your modem with ethernet? That sounds suspiciously familiar...

Do you, by any chance, have an nForce4 motherboard? If it happens to be a Gigabyte as well then I have know why it won't connect.

But answer this first, it'll save me the trouble of typing the thing for no reason :p

To turn the restart off in Vista, right-click on Computer -> Properties -> Advanced system settings -> Startup and Recovery [Settings] -> Uncheck "Automatic restart"

Hope this helps :)
