Bluetooth 4.0

As far as I am concerend, Bluetooth is the single most useless wireless technology to be used as a standard in todays devices... Back then, there were so many viable alternatives, yet we stuck with a 4th iteration of a kuk tech!

Or maybe I am just have too high standards.... :P

Don't think I've ever even seen or heard of a bluetooth 3 device...

well thats very standard u got there cos in my humble opinion this tech is the one one the most important pieces in making cell phones as usefull as they are and thats just one way of looking at it

think wireless mouse and keyboards how usefull would bluetooth 4.0 be in this application how about wireless networks in the home or office
I wonder what the data rate required to transmit image to screen, wireless screens would make thin clients a thing of the past.
even if the data rate is to low for that application imagine having this tech on those digital frames

in short the list is endless what blue tooth can do for u

I agree. I have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and they are a million times better than the RF ones.

yup.
bt headphones ftw.
higher data rates, greater range, lower consumption.
bring it on.

lol...do you know what bluetooth is? Think playstation 3, wireless speakers, cellphones, handsfree car kits etc.

I pair my cellphone with BT very often when I'm sitting in the office and want to sms someone. It's much faster to type on my keyboard than on a cellphone.

I don't think you have any clue of what the intentions or aim of Bluetooth are. It's not supposed to compete with WiFi or 3G. It fills a small niche where you actually want low transmit power (something WiFi does not offer) even though it comes at the cost of bandwidth and range. It does what it was intended to do, and it does it very well.

Eskom should be driving these kinds of research:D This will translate in less power consumption because the current BT version is so power hungry.
