Bluetooth earphones on PC (gaming and skype simultaneously)

I have a pair of Bluetooth earphones with built in mic. Only problem is that I don't have Bluetooth on my pc at all.

The only time I can use them is when connected to my phone to listen to music.

I'd like to be able to connect them to my PC somehow for when I'm gaming, but also be able to use the mic functionality so I can chat on skype while I'm playing.

Any idea if this is possible, and if so what device would allow this?

So I've tried this before and you will be disappointed to know that it will not be great, the Bluetooth protocol can only handle so much bandwidth, so to work as intended for up (mic) and down (music etc.) it will lower the call quality to that of a phone call.

Sucks pretty bad, only way to go is with wireless headsets with a built-in mic.

I was reading your thread and all the replies to it points to getting a Bluetooth dongle for your PC, in order for the headphones to be able to work with your PC. Can the solution really be that simple? :confused:
 
If I may jump in here? How do I get bluetooth to work from my tv which has an earphone outlet to my couch. Have the normal headphones with plug. Headphones work when plugged into tv. So all working just need the missing bluetooth to give me the needed 3m space.
I do sound doff hey?

Rather invest in wirelss headphones, I have a Phillips set still going strong after 8 years. Has a blaster unit you plug into tv.

I've got my Bluetooth JBL headphones working perfectly with one of those Bluetooth USB dongles. Nice a small fit out the way. Windows 10 recognizes it immediately and to turn on headphones, just have to click the Bluetooth button and they pair. All sounds then play through headphones.
 
Ok, this is quite interesting... or annoying!!

Installed all good, bit like Nether said.... it has two Bluetooth profiles.

One for when you are using them as Earphones, and then when you go into skype it activates the "headset" profile, and well... the sound quality goes to ****.

We talking 1 bit mono here. According to the person on the other end of the line, the call is coming through loud and clear. But on my end it sounds like in the 70's

pretty ****. going to have to see if there is some way of increasing the sound quality when using the "headset" profile.
 
perhaps there is a way of editing the registry, forcing the quality?

I found the keys where the info is stored, but this is a bit out of my depth
