ok i tried to both send and receive a pics from and android phone to an iphone and guess what Iphone does not allow file sharing???

How ridoculous my samsung e720 allowed that and that phone couldnt even use mxit at the time.

Jailbreak + airblue sharing = sharing files with any phone.

so basically to share a file you need to jail break the phone which voids the warranty?

Yea il stick to me android devices

Pretty much the view of lots of people. You really dont want a device that treats you like a criminal.

So what is the difference between rooting an S3 and jailbreaking an iPhone?

you dont need to root the s3 to send a picture :)

You don't need to. Don't try pretend that is remotely true. You only need to jailbreak if you want to do it via bluetooth.

You do need to root the S3 get rid of TouchWiz and make it even remotely useable.
But who cares???
Those that want to can, those that don't want to don't have to

I use touchwiz on my note 2 and find it very good especially with airview and other s pen features. You dont need to root to install another launcher.

Probably little, but I havent had to root my S2 to send pictures via bluetooth. The only time people really have to drop to root on an android is when they are doing something that could break the phone. People have to jailbreak their iphones just to send a file over bluetooth. Huge difference. IE, you dont have to void your warranty with an android phone just to send a picture of your cat to your girl friend over bluetooth :)

Your ass, you are speaking out of it.

I am using TouchWiz and *gasp* I can use all my phones features.

meh with the s3 and note 2 you can share files using nfc and wifi direct, bluetooth is so 2002, and iphone cant even manage that.

Big difference. One can even side-load apps on an unrooted Android phone. You also have write access to the internal storage on an unrooted Android phone. One also don't need to run an old version of the OS in order to have root...

..
Not true at all. In fact I am running my unrooted s3 with no TouchWiz in sight.

TouchWiz is *very* widely known to cause many of the performance issues associated with Android (These days at least)

I didn't ask what the differences were between an unrooted S3 and an non-jailbreaked iPhone. I asked what the difference is between rooting an S3 and jailbreaking an iPhone?

I'm bemused by the fact that people use Bluetooth to do anything.

There's a thing called the internet and cloud services...no Bluetooth required.

You ever been at a bachelors party or somewhere remote and a person shows you a funny pic / clip, etc?
"Lol thats hilarious, throw it on your cloud quick, i want to grab it.... oh wait, no signal" --better yet, "im out of airtime"

Stuff like this happens.

And one is free.... The other is not.

There is also a thing called lack of data connection or OOB rates. I want to sent a 19mb video clip, how would you suggest I send it to the guy next to me?

I haven't had any performance issues but if I have I could Apex launcher or Novalauncher or any of the other launchers out there without rooting the phone.
