Has anyone seen this and have a remedy?

Specifically, when I made a slideshow in iMovie, the pictures are perfect. High resolution.

When I share it and burn it via iDVD, the resolution of the pictures is terrible. Whether I play the burned DVD on my Mac, my Plasma, or a regular 4:3 TV, they're very poor quality

Any ideas...

Thanks

Have you checked encoding quality in the project preferences?

Rather export it as a movie and then burn on DVD.

I'm not a Mac user, but I'll bet you've got the bitrate encoding settings set too low. Afaik the max DVD bitrate is just below 10 000 kbps.

Thanks for the reply. I am very new to Mac (got it 2 weeks ago).
How do I do the above method? Do I need additional software?

Thanks

Nope everything is included in the software.
PM me if you require Skype support.

Ask the 'Apple discussion forum'. I changed to Mac last September and all my questions were answered within minutes!

So in iMovie, I exported my project as a movie. It's in .m4v format in document folder.
How do I burn it to a dvd if I can't use iDvd? I assume I won't be able to create the Dvd menus as in iDvd?
I'm not sure the dvd will work in normal dvd players if the file is in m4v format?

What version of iMovie?, Version 8.04 has the option to export it as a Quicktime movie.

Edit: When you export it as a Quicktime movie click on Options, there is a whole slew of settings you can play around with.

I exported as a movie (.m4v) and the quality is almost as good as in iMovie :-)
When sharing via a dvd I had to change the quality from the default "best performance" to "professional quality" Much better!
I also reduced the use of "Ken Burns" panning effects as this doesn't work well on tvs (lots of lines and jarring)
Thanks for you help!
