Hi MYbb Team,

I have a BMW X1 2016... it doesnt have navigation in the menu.

Is there any way to purchase the BMW navigation system/GPS installed through BMW? Any idea on cost behind this?
I enquired but they've tended to take their time.
Worried I'll lose the motorplan if i go the non-bmw route.

Thanks

Don't waste your time with a car installed gps/map, go for a second hand android phone with a maps app and mounting or a standalone dedicated gps

It'll void warranty/motorplan if i do that
No, you not touching any internal wiring- this will be some plastic mounting on the windshield and for charging it will the firelighter/12v charging port

I guess you can, heck anything is possible. But a) It will void your Motorplan/warranty, b) will cost a fortune and c) will be unreliable.

I just want to integrate it into current idrive. Is that not possible?
Not unless you have Carplay or Android Auto. Audio can be done via aux or bluetooth

Check with BMW if they can enable the navigation for you. My 2014 Z4 had it. The map updates are expensive though.

Hi there. I can answer a BMW query.

Yes technically you can get one added, however there are different costs based on which route you go. If you stick with your current 6.5 inch screen, my guess is it could cost you in the range of 20K if BMW insists on replacing your entire radio. The larger screen would definitely be more.

Otherwise you can consider something aftermarket. There are options out there which do incorporate idrvive. I personally don’t understand why it would void warranty, but I’ve heard of stories where warranty was void for much less.

My advice? Just keep continuing to use your phone for navigation. Most people don’t use their car’s navigation anyway.

On the phone it is free and up to date. Integrated in car is very expensive upfront and you pay for updates and on top of it it's not so up to date.
Go here for BMW info and advice: BMWFanatics dot coza

So there is this Company that can help you code your BMW and install replacement hardware, check them out.

But I think they're from the US, but they can help remotely.
