BMW 320i

I'm not sure hey, I guess it's a personal preference. I'm really not that fond of the driving position in most BMWs, although I'm sure that some would disagree. And the more recent models don't seem to focus on the driver as much as previous models did (what happened to the angled dash that pointed toward the driver?). Personally I think that the 3 series peaked with the E36 models. The E46, while not as good as the E36, was still decent but then it started going downhill.

i agree to an extent
really miss those driver orientated angled dashboards :)

this can be a long debate... i guess will avoid such before it even begins. However have to agree that the shape of the E90 (prior to the face lift) is not that great. But the driving is sheering ... Steering wheel feels 10x better than of that of Audi which contributes to sport feel/ handling of the car

Normally the discount only applies when you do a trade in - they then give you a very low trade in on your current car.

New engine spec coming out beginning of 2011 with better fuel efficiency - they want to get rid of current models.

So you drive out of the dealer - minus R40 000 on your value.

Two months later it drops another R40 000 due to model being a "year" old and add another R20 000 for being an older engine.

3-5 Years later you want to sell or trade in the car - your value is always below to what you owe the bank

Need some information on E90
How does the discounts on brand new 3 series work?
Dealer is offering R45k discount, how can I get more?
Do I have to take on the road fees?

Does anyone know the diff between 320i start and 320i

I'm sorry guys but this is where I give up. What Fairy Tales have you been reading about Dealer markup. If you are getting 45k off the car it must be a bloody good price, now you want a bigger discount and you don't want to pay licence and reg.

Sorry this just seriously pisses me off.

I suppose you buy your bread for R5.70 less R2.50 and then still bitch about that price!

If you walked onto our floor and demanded that type of deal, I'm afraid I would tell you to go and buy another car...somewhere else...a loooong way from me.

I give up

I have found that no matter what car you buy (unless you pay a big deposit upfront) you are always going to get shafted when you trade in. It's even worse to buy a new car of a model that is soon to be replaced.

True, a friend of mine works at one of the big garages and he says they only make about R5000 on a new car sale. It actually parts and second hand cars were the real money is made.

Thank god there is someone with a bit of perspective around here...

@Fazda : I see u taking this quiet personally. Why does it bother U about what deal I want?
What annoys me is arrogant car salespeople who are non-negotiable when interest rates are low. And when interest rates are high, it was my pleasure to watch them eat humble pie.

I take it personally when I am dealing with idiots.

Selling cars is a business, not a charity affair, and if you expect a dealer to sell a car to you at below cost just because you think you have the right to ask for a ridiculous discount it's time you read a book on Economics 101.

There is NOTHING non- negotiable about a 45k discount boyo, you should be grateful that you got it.

Look up the word GREED in the dictionary, you might find that it applies to you.

@Fazda: look up the word "high horse" , fat headed, thick skulled. These apply to you. When I need a lesson from the creche, I will come to you.

The R40k discount is standard on the bmw website.
You fill a certain demographic in durban which has a fat headed approach. If u ever ready to play in the capital, be prepared to lose your shirt.
Surfs up, mofo.

Yup...as I thought, we are now dealing with an arrogant p r i c k who thinks the world owes him everything.

What, may I be so humble to ask, makes you so special over every other consumer in the country?

45k is a brilliant discount FFS...or are we now actually getting to the point where you need to be given a status BMW to impress your friends? Time to join the ANC Youth league. Cheap BMW's come with the territory.

The only arrogant p r * c k here is the one you see in the mirror every morning next to you. You have nothing valuable to contribute here so go elsewhere.

Sounds like you have issues with the govt of this country, EE, AA, BBBEE. Take your soap box and go use it where someone WANTS to listen. Try Australia, IF you can meet the entrance requirements with std 8 as your highest qual.

PS: hope u make your targets, only 6 days to go.
I am wondering how u have made it so far as a salesman for so long with this attitude. This attitude must come as an extension of that crap jap vehicle you try to sell.

Buddy boy, I am NOT the one demanding a car for cost or cost less whatever, just to drive a status symbol...and yes, your arrogance is perfect for a BMW driver...don't even bother to request one with the indicator light option.

Have a nice day.

@rodga
Look at the very first post made by Fazda on 23-11-2010 02:56 PM. The position taken was to attack & judge without clarifying or offering advice. HOW was that statement contributing to my question or adding value?
If thats the position that people are allowed to take, then i want nothing to do with this forum.

Have a good day all.
