Hi guys, how's this deal?

It's a BMW 323i with just 65 000km on the clock. 2009 model steptronic with a navigator. It's retailing for R270 000.

Should I go for it or have you seen better deals of a similarly speced car?

I dont like bm's much, but as long its not a slow poke 320 I would say go for it.

WHY GO BM WHEN MERC IS THE REAL DEAL? LOL
To me the best car on the road is a paid off car...

Thing is I wouldn't know because I've never driven a 320.
Why do you not like BM's astro?

Merc... how much do they go for and which one?
Btw, where can I get a paid off car? I'd think I need to finance it first, then pay it off then it will be a paid off car? :)

Cos Malema drives around in them. But seriously, They do drive very very nice, just a personal opinion.

Merc C180, can pick up a low mileage one from Zeda, 30 000 KM for about R280 000. Much rather have the merc.

They do look nice but to be honest, it's not a car I would buy.. it's just not my style :)

is there any remaining motorplan. how diy are you? if the mp is upto 90, 000km then the car may only last you 1 year until you have to start doing maintenance. many items need replacement after 100, 000km.

ZEDA ? do people really consider zeda when buying second hand ?

these guys are the selling arm of avis right, i use to see these nuts racing these cars from the airport to the zeda lot ...

Try to get the motorplan extended as far as possible, km & time. The 323i is the logical choice, not as slow as the 320i & more fuel efficient than the 325i & 330i.

I bought my wifes car from them, very good service and 4 years later the car still runs like a dream. Ok it was a mommy wagon, so probably not many drag races were done in it :p

The mortorplan is until 100 000km or 2014. I should extend the motorplan for sure, should I end up getting the car.
I'm not DIY at all when it comes to cars :)

323i is a 6 cylinder isn't it? Much more car than a C180. Merc's are boring in my opinion. BM's are not special or anything but Merc's just don't appeal to me.

I recently test drove a 320i and 323i on the same day. 323i was great. 320i felt sluggish. BM's are great cars. Current 3 series tyres are astronomically expensive though so check that.

I've had lots of cars and after getting my current BM I can't see myself ever changing brands. Really really great car. I have a '03 318i station wagon. Plan to upgrade to a 325 or similar touring as soon as I have to.

Nah, Merc > BMW anyday.

In fact Mercedes c63 AMG is probably one of the best cars around IMHO and most powerful V8 engine isn't a bad moniker either.

I'll say this however, no way in hell is a Merc C180 even CLOSE to the level of a BMW 323. There is absolutely no way I would pay that kind of money for a 1.8 with a turbo. Same for the C200 which is a 1.8 with a more boost. Wouldn't even consider a C200 just because of the scummy way they labelled it.

C300 or C350 would be were I would start but they are so overpriced.

So yeah, my point: Mercedes is great but I wouldn't buy one because of price. BMW are expensive but still acceptable.

Great car but just be prepared to empty your bank account when it's time to change tyres and pay speeding fines because it just wants to be driven fast ALL THE TIME.
