My 320d bmw had an electrical problem, I took it to Sulamans BMW in middelburg to fix it and was told its fine, a month later the car packed up and would not start at all. Then they told me my computer was busted and needs to be replaced, after a month of struggling they could not fix it and sent it to their other branch in witbank(broadway bmw).

Broadway has had the car for two months and still cannot find or fix the problem, Every week they have a different excuse and a different part that needs to be fitted. When i try contact their workshop manager i get ignored and my calls have never been returned. Their technicians clearly have no clue and are parts fitters not technicians.

Thinking its the branch at fault I tried the call centre but that was a waste of my time, i emailed rob cowan(after sales service manager bmw s.a) and did not even get a response. Clearly nobody at bmw cares.

My bill has amounted to R24000.00 and the car is still not running, the worste part is being without a vehicle for 3 months.

I am 27 and earn roughly R380K a year, i will never ever buy another BMW again!.

Believe it that's why I swapped to Audi.Owned a 325tds and at a 127000 km after the car lost a great deal of power was told by BMW agents (there's nothing wrong with it).Now I will only drive Audi turbo Diesels.I get great service and even if I arrive with small problems at 16:30 they sort the problem out which includes an Audi purchased from a rival dealership.

You are referring to the 'company' and not the car itself, right?

I've never been a BMW fan but surely they can show you what the diagnostic has picked up so far. From my understanding the diag software tool communicates with alot of different modules with the main module being the ECU. So in replacing the ECU it should be ok then, unless they fscked up something else and don't want to admit it.

I suggest to get the car to Zambezi or Leo Haese Hatfield. Speak to Solly at Leo Haese Hatfield, think he still works there, maybe he might be able to help.

yup, this is true.... while the car is on motor plan, it's a dream to drive, once off everything goes...

my mom's 525i touring just finished it's motor plan, and then about 3 months after, the gear box gave in... cost R13 000 to fix!

TIP, as soon as a bmw goes out of service plan, sell it, just get rid of it before it gets rid of your money.

There were several reasons behind the BMW motorplan, and one of them was to keep you buying new BMW's.

They don't explain that to the poor sucker who buys them second hand! ;)
