BMW m235i

Congrats - I have no doubt you are going to love this car!

Tx mate, really glad I didn't settle for the red one they had initially... Enjoying all the gimmicks in the car, haven't tried connected drive and the app yet, any have experience with this? Is it worth it?

I haven't used it myself - not even sure if I have it - got some connected thingy. I sorta just enjoy the pure sweetness and power of the car on its own :)

@Phiber - no feedback on your drive yet? You not happy?

M Performance Parts look great

Well, if you like controlling the car's aircon remotely (which is awesome) then yes, its awesome. Sadly, mine doesnt have it :(

Anyone got the m performance exhaust option?
I am tempted, but its pricey just for a better sound

How much do they go for?

I have it on mine and it sounds awesome.

No feedback here as his enjoying his M235i too much!

Anyone seen the latest Top Gear magazine? They have mini-interviews with all the presenters on the new Top Gear show. One of them, Eddie Jordan, currently drives a 235i....and rates it his best car ever. Gotta love it :D

EDITED - was Top Gear magazine...

Haha, sorry gents. Work has been absolutely insane. Car is great. Drive is good, steering is light and its very comfortable for a car this quick.

Weight distribution is very different from what I come from, so handling has been interesting but a lot of fun. Do feel like I'm putting the tires through a lot of work.

Sound of the motor is great too.

Two things I'd change on the car, Gearbox and Brakes I think the car needs is slightly better brakes (maybe I was too spoilt with my previous car). The sports auto transmission doesn't give you the same DCT/PDK manual feel, it really feels more gimmicky that racey. Guess if you want the DCT and better brakes, you've got to go for the M2.

You are spot on about the brakes. I had the same feeling - but if you look at tests (and them saying the same thing), these brakes will bring your car down to a stop quicker than most out there. It's rather odd how the brakes feel so spongy in a way - but I have had to really stamp on them a couple of times for ignoramuses out there - and then you realise how good they are.

As for the gearbox - I have to quibble with you. Are you actually trying to use the paddles? Eish. Just pop the lever left and push the switch up for sports transmission. If you think you can do better with any other car then we need to talk :)

Haha, definitely driven cars with much better gearboxes hey, the DCT in the M3/M4 is much better than this thing. For a 'Sports Auto' this will do. Driven it with the paddles and just in sport, just feel like it doesn't give you the control a proper manual would. I didn't have that issue with my PDK (but then that is a gearbox that costs twice this one, so I am not really comparing apples with apples).

Ok then - no ways I can argue with you seeing as I have no experience of such. And logic also dictates that is should be far better.

But, that was on the auto box thing. Tell me what manual box you think is better than the M235i's auto in sports mode?
