BMW Motorplan Extension

Hi guys

i've got a 2017 520d (G30), 50 000km on the clock and I average 18 000km per year. The motorplan comes to an end in Feb 2022.

I got a quote to extend my motorplan and...
1 year, 0 km = R23k
2 years, 0 km = R48k
2 years, 10 000km = R65k

Need some advice here. Do I extend the motorplan or not?
If not, would you recommend a good 3rd party warrantee?

i've previously run an X3 (F25) to 198 000km with no problems whatsoever. But i have a feeling this G30 can become quite problematic, especially the electronics (this one has all the boxes ticked)

Please help...

thanks,
Extend if you can, no 3rd party will match.

You are right. Drivetrain of the 20d is generally bullet proof but other electronic stuff can cost buckets as you also have the other optional electronic gizmos on the car. 48k for the 2 years is a no brainier. Just 2k per month for absolute peace of mind and not jumping through hoops when claiming. Just drop off, and say fix.

Am in a similar boat as the above post.. looking at a 2018 420d GC Msport with 43000km on the clock, R24k to extend the motorplan for 1yr, expires March 2023.
Was advised no need to take it, since engine is solid, but a fair point on other components and electronics.
But with such low mileage, odds of any funnies should be really low?

Off topic, but anyone know if Android Auto can be installed if all I'm seeing on the screen is Apple Carplay?

Awesome car dude - looked at one of these about 2 years ago but found that the lack of door frames increases the road noise did you experience this as well?

I did test drive it and didn't notice any more noise than my current car (Jetta 6 - also seen comments on wind noise for this car so maybe I'm used to it but I would say it seemed fine)

Going to take the plunge, without motorplan, but I have until March next year to change my mind :)

If the service history under motorplan checks out and there are no comments on the car you should be ok. Solid drivetrain. Just dont skimp on oil services (I think BMW even has a campaign running cant remember what its called) and service the ZF gearbox at some point.
