BNETA on Home Assistant

I'm also looking for a smart plug that I can switch on/off via API. App doesn't work, need to automate it.

These are much more compact and better priced and work with Tuya in HA.

Does the energy monitoring work on HA with these? I see they're out of stock though. I have the Bneta and while I can connect it via TUYA into HA, I can't see the energy Monitoring

Not with the official integration last time I checked, but with local Tuya you could go through the trauma of mapping the fields but I honestly couldn’t be bothered.

Yup still not with the official one. I’ll try fiddle with local Tuya tomorrow if I remember and just confirm it works there.

Thanks, yea I'll fiddle tomorrow as well. If I can setup local tuya easily enough then might just get a 4 pack of the Bnetas.

Wish there was a simple option instead of Tuya/localtuya, but can't seem to find anything that integrates energy monitoring with HA and seems like the ones I do find are all on Tuya

My other Tuya plugs have power monitoring as does my CBI Astute sockets and controller all via the official integration.

So it's just the Bnetas that are the problem then? Got a link on your plugs for me? Unless it's the above one in which case I'll carry on looking

They are older Ultralink ones I think the brand was.

There’s clearly a cheaper or different chipset that isn’t supported but why I have no idea.

After a full reinstall twice... Managed to get HA to start recording energy usage. Would be nice to find plugs that just pass the values back as part of their entities but this seems to work.

None of my Tuya plugs report energy usage, I just do that manually for a lot of my connected things using a Riemann sum integral helper + utility meter helper.

Well you still need the Riemann sum but you just plug that into the Energy Dashboard and it does it's own thing.

Nee fok, local Tuya is the same **** show it's always been.

Hard skip.

The newer BNETA plugs allow for energy usage. I think it was only the first two I ever bought that did not have this. I know there are others, probably better but these work with HA via Tuya.
