My guess is that someone detected the smell of a decomposing body, you can smell that from quite far away.
 
Second body found on Table Mountain in a week

Cape Town – The police are investigating a case of murder after a second body was found on Table Mountain this week.

The body of a man was discovered on Chapman's Peak at 11am on Wednesday morning.

"Circumstances surrounding the body of a man who was found at about 11:00 (Wednesday) by one of the park's cleaners on Chapmans Peak are under investigation," police spokesperson FC van Wyk said.

The husband of the missing Ghanaian woman was on cape talk last week calling for another search of the area as he wasnt giving up.
