Body recovered near Table Mountain

Wilderness Search and Rescue Services have recovered a body on Lion’s Head near Table Mountain in Cape Town.

Search and Rescue spokesperson, Anwars Bent said that officials had been trying to recover the body since Saturday but struggled to gain access to the area.

A helicopter was reported to have been used to airlift the body out.

Bent said the body has been on the mountain for a number of days.

“At the moment Skymed Rescue helicopters are at the scene and we’ll airlift the body to Kloofneck parking area were police and crime scene investigators are waiting,” said Bent

Inaccessible areas of Lions Head ? I wasn't aware of any.

I heard the helicopters going... but I thought it was a Camps Bay incident... eish!

They inaccessible since they are dangerous. There are hiking trails which are clearly marked for this reason. Anything off the path towards the top = steep cliff. There are always people wondering through the bushes on Lions Head and Table Mountain.. its freaky.

Stupid tourists!

You should see the Tourists walking at night. Bobbing flashlights form a necklace around Lions Head. Beads do drop from necklaces now and then.

Wonder how the body got there if its inaccessible .

Maybe he died before the mountain sprung out out of the ground?
